Marvel Universe Masterworks 19 Inch Deluxe Action Figure Galactus Includes 3 3/4 Inch Silver Surfer Dark Version Variant! Review

You've probably seen this massive figure at your local Toys--Us, but likely not the "dark variant' version. This version much more closely resembles the color scheme on the box's packaging (same packaging for both versions)and also comes with a variant version of the Silver Surfer. The Surfer figure is made from a more opaque, quasi-translucent plastic that looks different (and cooler) than previous Marvel Universe versions of the figure.

At nearly 20" tall, the Galactus figure towers over all other Marvel Universe figures, including those "build-a-figures" from the now defunct 6" Marvel lines. The head and eyes light up a dull orange color when the chest button is pressed. He also "speaks" about 10 different phrases when the button is pressed, and the voice used is clear, a decent volume, and most importantly--it sounds like a voice that would belong to the devour of worlds.

The only complaint I have is the articulation. There's zero articulation on his hands, and for a figure this size I expected it to be much more poseable. At this price (especially for the variant version) the manufacturer knows this is more for collectors than kids, but it is a durable piece and not only looks good on a shelf, but would hold up in a kid''s playroom as well.

Melissa & Doug The House That Jack Built - Robinette Review

I got this kit for my mom to build. She is almost 91 years old and has built quite a few dollhouses in the last few years. This one is by far the best! The materials are so much better than the other kits she has gotten. The house is so sturdy and there is no punching pieces out of large sheets- they are all real wood. The parts don't warp like other kits and everything fits together beautifully.
The directions are done with photos so she can actually see how to put the pieces together. There was one dormer we both struggled with as the pictures for that one piece were not easily read. But she got it! She has not finished it yet but so far everything is going together very well.
She is already planning her next building project and it will be a Melissa and Doug house. As soon as this one is finished and she sells it she will go to the next one.
This house can easily be made for a child or an adult. It is certainly sturdy enough for kids to play with it and nice enough to use as a showpiece.

This product was much less expensive than the "Thomas" brand, and is just as well made. I have purchased several "Thomas" pieces to add to it like the drawbridge, sodor scrub and wash, cranky, tidmouth timber yard, etc. The tracks are very durable and have lots of different combinations. We also added in the Thomas figure 8 tracks as well. The table is perfect and very sturdy. It can be used later on for something different when my son is over the trains. All the wooden Thomas trains work perfectly with the Melissa and Doug tracks.
