I purchased this receiver with in December of 2011. I was thrilled by all of the features this transmitter had and the sheer improvement over the stock AM Traxxas RX/TX I was using before this. My problems began immediately after installation. It seemed that the receiver would not connect to the transmitter. After fiddling with it for an hour or so I was able to get it to work. It worked great for about 20 minutes, then began accelerating erratically. I have a Bandit VXL with 3s lipos. This thing willingly goes 70mphs.

My Bandit accelerated FULL SPEED into a curb, narrowly missing a parked car. Luckily it did not have much room to accelerate before crashing and the damage was not catastrophic.

I tried using my car afterwards and I am no longer able to get the car to drive forward, clearly a problem with the receiver and transmitter since my stock traxxas receiver still works.

At this point I contacted Spektrum. After waiting 4+ hours for a callback I got a very curt support tech reply who shockingly agreed to send me a replacement receiver free of charge. I received this new receiver and installed it. This time the car worked perfectly through a full battery charge. Next time I took the car out, the same issue occurred, only it did not accelerate quite so dramatically. It was however completely unusable. I tried installing a spektrum capacitor thinking the esc was pulling too much power away from the receiver (very unlikely with only a 3s lipo). No success. I even had traxxas replace the ESC (which they did willingly). This also did not resolve the issue.

So now im back to calling Spektrum (actually Horizon hobby, since you cant actually call Spektrum for support) with the same grumpy support tech (hes probably grumpy since he is apparently the only person working) and I need to pay to mail in my receiver and transmitter for them to fix.

I have had 2 defective receivers (Really, 2? What kind of quality control is that?), and spent a ton of time trying to get my RC car working again with no luck. For these reasons I have given a 1 star review to this product. If I ever get mine working again I will update this review....

**UPDATE** After received a new transmitter, my RC car is in working order again. it has been working solidly ever since. Due to the expense of troubleshooting repairing this I cannot justify giving it a good review, but I have increased the rating to more accurately reflect my experience.
