K2 Sports Women's Alexis Fitness 2012 Inline Skates (Black/Pink/Purple, 9.5) Review

These Skates look great and are comfortable! I need to return mine since they are too big. I normally wear a 6.5 to a size 7 and I ordered the Size 7, they are unwearable even with thick sox, my heel lifts up and it is wobbly!! Other than that they are great! Got them in a timely manner and look just as they do in the picture. I recommend going smaller than bigger since mine were to big! Hope this helps!

Steam Freight Starter Set

Steam Freight Starter Set

The Famous Santa Fe
From the plains of Kansas to the mountains of Colorado, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe served the southwest. As one of the larger U.S. railroads in its time, the Santa Fe greatly influenced settlement along its route. This is an ideal set to introduce kids or adults to the wonders and history of model railroading. The authentic details and real smoke from the locomotive mean this set looks almost like the real thing, encouraging a desire to learn about the real Santa Fe railroad. Building the layout encourages creativity and operating it teaches cooperation.. Best of all, the durability of LGB trains provides hours of fun.

Big Train, Big Fun
Connecting track, setting up the cars, loading and unloading – it s all part of the fun with an LGB set. Once the train is in motion, kids can make it go fast and slow, start up or stop. They control the sound and the speed. The large size makes it easy to place trains on the track and the durable construction stands up to frequent handling. Everything is made to work together and work right. The entire family will enjoy the excitement for years to come.

Sturdy & Strong, Indoors & Out
LGB trains are carefully engineered to run on very sharp curves so they stay on the track even on uneven surfaces. This set is designed for use indoors and out with gearboxes that are protected from dirt and moisture and track rails machined from solid virgin brass. Major body parts are impact-resistant to stand up to years of use. The sounds of a real locomotive add to the excitement of this colorful set.

LGB G Scale Steam Freight Starter Set Special Edition ATSF Steam Loco With Tender, Flatcar, Caboose, Track, Power Pack, Smoke Oil Review

These sets are LGB's idea of a higher end starter set for those who like American style trains. I have two of these locos, the cars and the caboose, the engines and caboose being of chinese origin. These locos are an acquired taste, IMHO, for the more knowledgable train enthusiasts eye, as they are too short and stubby to resemble any prototype, and I have searched! On the other hand, they are cute, in the same way a hedge hog or pig is cute, and look very good with LGB standard gauge style cars and as well as the narrow gague cars. They run smoothly and quietly, they smoke profusely, and light brightly at low speeds. Should you buy a set which comes with sound, it is pretty good, but entirely unsynched with piston (exhaust) movement. Has a short bell ring, and a single whistle, both of which are actually pretty good for a low end sound system, and more or less work with the locos movment-they are sensitive to voltage changes and not the actual movement of the loco, so you may move off before you get sound, and may be hearing sounds after you come to a rest.

The loco is heavy, and sparsely detailed, but has very good printing and paint. One should be careful in handling as the tender (coal car) steps are easily broken, as LGB used styrene instead of its older, tougher and more common super flexible plastic, which is too bad in this case. The loco will easily pull five or more cars, and negotuates the tightest curves with ease. It has a dummy coupler on the front which more or less makes pulling a train while running in reverse impossible. These locos have working light on the tenders which light when the loco runs in reverse, which look great.

The cars and track are top quality, durable and the power pack are up to running the set. The loco is very very heavy. It will pull a great deal, but the downside is that if you put it to the test this way, its internal gears will wear, and i understand they are hard to find as repair parts. If the US styel isnt critical, i would recommend the european styled LGB starter sets for superior longevity and design as well as parts. availability. These are fine sets, weather proof and very high quality. They will withstand heavy use, but due to some of the factors ive mentioned on detail parts, probably not the un-coached abuse of a very young child handling things roughly (for which i would suggest either the toy train series sets or the euro sets mentioned above.

They are really quite a lovely set, and look great in the garden or around the house or tree, and have more subdued coloring than the euro sets.

I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this set to anyone wanting a great start in g scale. With only the least attention to handling and storage of the more delicate parts, this set will last decades. Iti si also very forgiving of poor rough and tumble track work, inside or out.
