I have 2 12 year old soccer players and a 7 year old player. We'd gone through a couple of other inexpensive soccer goals for them to practice on in the past and found them, in general, to be cheaply made, too small, and good for a single season at best.

We were looking to upgrade to near full size goals for them to practice on and something that will, hopefully, last for the next several years and be a bit more robust. Amazon offers several soccer goals at a variety of price points and lots of sizes. We wanted steel rather than PVC.

This is made of easy to assemble 1 1/2" steel pipe that is fairly sturdy. There is sag to the cross bar. But, overall, for the price, I'm pleased.

Construction is not difficult. It took me and my 2 boys a bit over an hour to put up both goals that come in the single box. The instructions for assembling the metal bars are straight forward. There are no clear instructions on how to put on the net. There blue tabs, but it isn't clear if those go on the corners of the crossbar or on the corners of the base. There are a bunch of velcro straps to attach the net, but it doesn't tell you where or how far apart to put them, so if you start by putting them too close you run out, if you're too far apart you'll have gaps the ball will get through. FWIW, we found that one strap for every 4 squares on the net seems about right though I wish there had been enough to do it every 3 squares for a tighter/neater fit.

Also, we had at least one piece of steel tubing in each box (each goal) had a bent tub end. Thus on the first goal we did, it was pretty severely crushed at the connection point (female end). I had to straighten it out with vise grips. There was no damage to our shipping box, so clearly this was damaged prior to packing/shipping. I didn't check into having it replaced since I was able to fix it, but beware that quality control may not be ideal. The second one was also bent a bit at the connection end, but took very little to straighten out enough to fit since it was the male portion of the connection.

Final negative, the anchor stakes are pretty wimpy. We have pretty rocky terrain here in the Ozarks so stakes of any kind are always a challenge, but at least half of the anchors bent double before I could get them hammered properly into the ground, so I'm not sure how secure the goals are. I may have to check into some more secure anchoring mechanism in the future.

I'm optimistic that if none of the neighbor kids try to do pull-ups on the cross bar that the structure itself will last for at least 3-4 years. I think I'll have to find a new anchor system at some point. And I'm sure the nets will have to be replaced after a summer or two--but that's to be expected with any goal. At $200 total for 2 decent size goals I don't think I can complain and my kids seem quite pleased.
