I have owned several weather stations over the years.Most of the stations out there are not made to last they have a lot of features ,bell and whistles but only last 1-5 years .If you add up the money you spend on the cheaper brands you could own one good station. The Rainwise MK III LR (Long Range ) station works well the anemometer is Ball Bearing which will last longer the direction sensor has reed switches controlled by a magnet no contact at all unlike the varable resistor (POT) the cheaper one use.This station so easy to set up turn on transmittier plug in display and reciever your done .Up to 1 mile range on this model go to wunderground.com to see these stations in use you could have your own station on there too free.
