2013 Diamondback Nitrus BMX Bike (Red, 24-Inch Wheels) Review

The reason I picked the Diamondback Nitrus 24 is because I am a big guy (6 foot 300 lbs) and I wanted something that would suite the BMX tracks/parks with my daughters and I didn't want a mountain bike. I have always loved the Diamondback brand because of their quality and affordability and you get both in this bike. The frame is aluminum so it’s light and sturdy and the tires are a comp lll style so they are nice and rugged. The bike was very easy to put together with just some Allen wrenches and sockets/ratchets, took probably 30-40 minutes tops.

I choose this bike over the Diamondback Session 24 because of the thicker welding and the thicker tubing for my size and weight and I like the fact that the top tube, down tube and head tube are all welded together as one solid piece. I also prefer the handle bars of a lower style race bike then the higher handle bars of the session 24 and that the Nitrus 24 comes with alloy pedals NOT plastic. The Nitrus 24 easily supports my weight when rippin up the pavement or in the dirt with some jumps. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and it arrived a day earlier then the expected delivery date! There was a little bit of paint scuff on the crank but barely noticeable. I would highly recommend this bike to any big guys that are trying to get back in the BMX world and are on a budget or just enjoy messing around in the dirt. I have always stood by Diamondbacks since I raced them as a kid and even as an adult they are still an excellent bike brand.
